Checklist to avoid hiring a NIGHTMARE videographer
We have all heard at least one story of a nightmare wedding videographer. Sometimes they don’t show up, they lost your footage, they were distracting your guests or worst of all they ghost you. Use this checklist to avoid hiring someone who will leave you hanging on your special day.
Ask them how many weddings they shoot a year & how long they have been doing this.
Make sure that their website shows full weddings and not just 1 min teasers. (companies can hide behind the highlight versions of their work)
Are you going to be outsourcing my wedding or will your team be shooting and editing it all the way through?
Ask to see reviews from past clients (or at least look on their website for those)
Ask your other vendors if they have worked with the video company before (especially the planner and photographer)
If you aren't local, will you be traveling the day before my wedding or arriving on the day of?
Get on the phone with them!! Don't just talk over email or text, get on the phone with them to ask your questions. This will help you get a feel for if you are a good fit for each other
Don’t always listen to your friends’ and family’s opinions of a videographer. Just because they had a great experience does not mean that you will too. Maybe you have a different style to your wedding that their videographer might not specialize in. SO just in general do your research and hire someone who you connect with.
